Canada's Political Parties
The members of Parliament who represent Canadians are usually members of a registered political party. The party with the highest number of elected representatives normally forms the Government, and its leader becomes Prime Minister. The leader of the party with the second-highest number of elected representatives becomes the Leader of the Opposition.
Political parties provide information about their positions on a wide range of topics and issues. You can learn about these party platforms from websites, social media, news stories and many other sources.
